Do you feel empty?

So thankful that we're learning the book of Jeremiah now.
So many people claim that the Old Testament is not relevant to us now when it's almost 4/5 of God's Word!
How can we know God by 1/5 of His word?
That always puzzles me and I am very grateful that I grow in a church that emphasizes the importance of the Old Testament.
It's precisely because we don't read the Old Testament that we get the nature of God wrong.
It's like coming to the movie last minute and catch the ending without knowing what happened in the beginning.
We don't get the full picture of God and we judge Him based on our preferred, superficial, meagre understanding.
Yes, we judge the sovereign Judge, we the creation judge our Creator, that's how presumptuous of us!
Today, I learnt that it's not difficult to find too many people who walk after emptiness and become empty. (Jeremiah 2:5)
In fact, we should break the taboo and ask each one we know, including ourselves, "Are we feeling empty?"
Even those who profess to love Jesus, if we feel empty inside, we know that we have strayed away from God because we will not be empty in Christ.
Turning away from God means we have to turn to something/someone else.
Can be money, fame and especially people.
Search our hearts and dare to ask the difficult but life-saving questions.

1. Do you feel empty?
2. If no, what answers do you have?
3. If yes, what is the answer to your emptiness?
4. If you find this question irrelevant, why?
5. If you have more questions, read the book of Jeremiah.
You will experience for yourself the heart of a holy God, who loves us and never want to see us walk after emptiness and become empty.
We are meant to run to the fountain of living waters!
